Everything Has Changed

Today is the 14th day of the official stay at home and guess what? My country people are tired already. You know why? Because the world seems to be on a pause and everyday we hear number of new cases, pains and death of people infected with the novel Corona virus (COVID-19). Everyone has become conscious of their human interaction, no hugs, no handshakes, all we see are gloves and masks in their different colours, shapes and sizes. Hand Sanitizers have replaced door mats in the home. Instead of the usual "welcome" mats, we see hand sanitizers. Our hearts go out to the healthcare workers who are in the frontline of this pandemic risking their lives to save lives everyday. Do remember them in your prayers. However according to The World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) quite a number of people have been able to recover from the virus, this alone is hope for us as we anticipate the vaccine from the United States and France government. Although China, suggests that their vaccine be tested on these patients, Africans strongly disagree as they are not sure this vaccine is genuine.

We, however, cannot simply rely on this. What else can the government offer to the masses, some of which are almost dying of hunger from the lock down? Our hearts go out to those who live on the streets without shelter and food. We ask that they too be taken care of.

Is there hope in this change? Apparently, churches too have gone online and masses/services can no longer hold physically, except in some countries and this is with proper spacing between church members. If the church is affected, how then do we quantify our hope? Amidst these crisis, we cannot deny the existence of God and He alone can save us from this global mess.

Meanwhile this period opens channels for free online classes, seminar, conferences, skill acquisitions not to mention a few. Find one that interests you and will add value to you and develop yourself. In all, stay safe!
